A weekend alternating the centre, art and green space. Choose museums by actual opening and leave room for the weather.

Day 1: the Duomo and Brera

Begin in Piazza del Duomo and decide whether to visit the Cathedral, Museum or Rooftops. Access and conditions differ: check the Veneranda Fabbrica's official site before booking, especially for the Rooftops and accessibility needs.

Spend the second part of the day around Brera. If entering the Pinacoteca, select a date and entry slot on its official site. With limited time, make the museum the day's main visit rather than stacking several exhibitions.

Day 2: Parco Sempione and design

In dry weather, walk through Parco Sempione between the Castle and the Arco della Pace. YesMilano includes it in its autumn-colour itinerary. Treat this as an editorial route and check on-site for any works or restricted access.

If design interests you, add Triennale Milano. Exhibitions and activities change: check its calendar and choose something available on your travel dates.

For rain or an easier pace

Choose one main museum each day: the Pinacoteca di Brera, Duomo Museum or an exhibition at Triennale. Bookings, exhibitions and facilities can change; avoid a plan that relies on several closely timed admissions.

Use ATM for transport and current diversions or station-access updates. With a stroller or wheelchair, check Rooftop, museum and transport access separately before buying.

Before you go
